Family

Ethan the beta

Today the Moore family grew by one. We added our first pet since moving to Boston. His name is Ethan and he's a betta. Tyson is technically responsible for him, but we all view him as our pet. We picked up a small tank, a castle, and some betta food and hooked him up. We think he's got it made.

Special thanks to Alice Kim for giving us lil' Ethan.

Angus

So, Ethan the Betta is deceased. He went to live in that big fish tank in the sky. We will miss Ethan. But we now have a new addition to the family: Angus the Betta. His name is Angus because he's so beefy.

This Memorial Day weekend, Osheta and I took the whole family camping at Bear Brook State Park in New Hampshire with the crews from Cambridgeport Baptist Church and the Greenhaus Christian Community. We all had a great time. The kids played in the lake, fished (very briefly), roasted and ate hot dogs and smores, and played games.

Here is a collection of clips sliced together into four parts:

We are now a week into our epic road trip vacation. This summer Osheta and I decided to visit both our families (Texas and Illinois) as well as friends in New Orleans ...and Disney World---all in one trip. Ambitious, we know. But so far, it has been a blast.

Being the geek that I am, I am chronicling the entire adventure via video, photos, and the web. I have created a dedicated website/blog for the vacation where I post photos, video and descriptions. I am also uploading photos to Facebook.

Osheta and I just returned from Minneapolis, MN where we attended the Evangelical Covenant Church's Assessment Center for prospective church planters. We were so blessed by the experience and we are humbled and excited to join the East Coast Conference as church planters.

During the assessment, each candidate was asked to deliver a 10-minute sermon. The sermon I wrote and shared is on a subject so close to my heart, I wanted to also share it here on this blog. It is entitled: The Father Heart of God: Setting the Lonely in Families

Like yours, my life is multi-faceted. This blog is an attempt to chronicle my de-compartmentalized life and thoughts as a Jesus-follower, husband, father, urbanite, minister, theologian, tech geek, hip hop head, and designer. Discussion is welcome, so long as it is conducted in a spirit of charity. First and foremost, this blog is for self-expression—then community.
